Editorial Policy
How reviews are created
Last updated: March 2026. This page explains how products are evaluated, how reviews are written, and what paid submissions do and do not guarantee.
1. Editorial independence
- Every review is written by a human and based on direct product evaluation.
- Payment does not buy a guaranteed positive verdict.
- Each review is written for clarity, practical usefulness, and decision-making context.
- Final editorial framing and verdict stay with Tried By Stef.
2. What we evaluate
- Best-fit buyer profile: who gets the most value from the product.
- Real-world usability: how quickly users can understand and start getting results.
- Value clarity: whether pricing and positioning are easy for buyers to trust.
- Adoption readiness: what buyers should know before rolling it out in a team.
3. Paid submission process
Paid requests go through Stripe checkout first, then a required intake form. Intake details help scope testing, but they do not control the final judgment. We may ask follow-up questions if key testing details are missing.
4. Publishing standards
- Reviews are published on a public URL and can be indexed by search engines.
- We do not publish hidden advertorial copy as independent editorial content.
- Major factual errors can be corrected after publication.
- Editorial opinion and verdict remain our own.
